Bedard, ConnorCenter185'918511-5.31Bedard is a generational-level talent. There is no brighter prospect on the planet.
Fantilli, AdamCenter186'319232-4.06Fantilli brings size, speed and competitive drive to the ice on every shift. The list of 18-year-old Hobey Baker winners is Paul Kariya, Jack Eichel and Adam Fantilli
Carlsson, LeoCenter186'319423-2.41Drafted above Fantilli because he is a big, super-smart center with a ton of upside.
Cooley, LoganCenter195'1018033-1.92Arizona's 3rd-overall pick in 2022 put up 60 points for the Gophers last season, and 14 points in 7 WJC games.
Smith, WillCenter185'1118045-3.38So much to like about Smith's offensive game and pure attacking instincts. Needs to up his work-rate, but a great prospect.
Michkov, MatveiRight Wing185'1015974-3.78Michkov could be second on the list if there was no risk adjustment. Impossible to take the puck away from him. Elite-level talent.
Guenther, DylanLeft Wing206'117096-3.71Natural goal scorer and a driver of offense on every shift. Showed his NHL potential in 33 games with Arizona.
Dvorsky, DaliborCenter186'1200109-2.73Does not have the magic of Michkov or Smith, not as big or aggressive in the attack as Carlsson or Fantilli, but still a top talent and potential NHL star player.
Leonard, RyanRight Wing185'1119089-2.09Intensity and skill makes Leonard a player that teams want desperately to add to their NHL playoff roster.
Rossi, MarcoCenter215'917997-3.78Struggled to make an offensive impact for Minnesota last year, but was highly affective in the AHL. Still has all the skill to be an NHL star.
Benson, ZacharyLeft Wing185'9170139-2.74Small, crafty, highly active and intelligent winger who generates offense
Perreault, GabeCenter185'101632314-3.41Slipped down the draft table, but his game-breaking scoring ability should prove some people wrong
Eklund, WilliamLeft Wing205'1017274-2.41Eklund has been slow to adapt to North American hockey, but his 41 points in 54 rookie AHL games points to a bright future.
Wright, ShaneCenter196'019942-2.12Former top prospect has started to slide due to his lack of counting stat generation, but he still has big upside and NHL mentality.
Barlow, ColbyLeft Wing186'11871813-1.76A goal-scorer with size and on-ice intellect. He will put pucks in NHL nets.
Gauthier, CutterLeft Wing196'220058-1.06Continues to improve his offensive game at Boston College, and his physical and defensive play are already NHL-ready.
Nazar, FrankRight Wing195'101801316-1.17Hip surgery was a big setback last year and limited Nazar to just 13 games in his post-draft season at Michigan. He'll need to make up for lost development time, but his talent is big enough to carry him forward.
Honzek, SamuelCenter186'31951619-1.51Solid offensive game will be effective at the NHL level, but needs to improve some areas of his play.
Wood, MatthewRight Wing186'41971513-1.36Great shot, good hands, but his skating needs to improve to vault him up the list.
Danielson, NateCenter186'1186918-0.99Solid two-way center with skill and a high NHL-floor.
Musty, QuentinLeft Wing186'12002623-2.37Talented player who needs to become more comfortable not being the prime focus.
Bolduc, ZacharyCenter206'01751723-1.03Bolduc had a monster year leading Memorial Cup champion Quebec, and is a rare, two-time 50-goal scorer in the QMJHL.
Kemell, JoakimRight Wing195'9185177-1.70His transition to North America was impactful, as he notched 13 points in 14 AHL games, and another 10 points in the playoffs. Talented scorer who is more effective as the talent around him increases.
Ritchie, CalumCenter186'11742720-0.77Suffered through injury in his draft year, which hurt his stock overall but not his future.
McGroarty, RutgerCenter196'12041424-1.37Point-per-game freshman at one of the NCAA's top programs.
Yager, BraydenCenter185'111701419-1.20Puck magnet who has great vision and passing abilities, keeping all opponents on their heels.
Savoie, MatthewCenter195'9175910-1.81Size is still a factor, and his counting stats were limited last season as Winnipeg scoring was spread out across all that talent, but he has the goods to be a top-flight NHLer.
Ostlund, NoahCenter195'101641627-0.86Solid season distributing pucks for Djurgardens, and a top U20 player in the AllSvensken (see Liam Ohgren).
Kulich, JiriCenter195'111782820-0.21Highly successful first season in North America saw Kulich score 46 points in 62 games, then another 11 in 12 in the playoffs. He will see some games in the NHL this season, and might make it stick.
Knies, MatthewLeft Wing206'22005751-0.26NHL-type, big-bodied winger who just keeps getting better. Turned pro after two excellent seasons at Minnesota, and should be a starting middle six to start the NHL season.
Ohgren, LiamLeft Wing196'02011921-2.13Solid season scoring for Djurgardens, and a top U20 player in the AllSvensken (see Noah Ostlund).
Dumais, JordanRight Wing195'91659684-2.60Dumais continues to score at a torid pace, finishing last season behind only Conor Bedard for the CHL scoring lead. Scored 54 goals, 86 assists, and led an underpowered Halifax team toe to toe against the champion Remparts.
Pelletier, JakobLeft Wing225'91652633-1.92Over a point-per-game in the AHL, and had a good showing in for the Flames despite his grumpy coach not knowing his name.
Mesar, FilipRight Wing195'91742632-1.18Transitioned well to North American play in his first season with Kitchener, and looks to have a better year two. Skill and speed, and as he develops, should become a second-line NHL winger.
Coronato, MatthewLeft Wing205'101801315-2.15Got a one-game debut for the Flames at the end of last season, and may need a year in the AHL, but he'll be in the show to stay soon enough.
Moore, OliverCenter185'111951913-1.15Speed kills, and Moore has a lot of it. Brilliant skater, with offensive abilities.
Lekkerimaki, JonathanCenter195'11172159-1.23Underwhelming year in Sweden's Tier 2 men's league, with just 9 points in 29 games. Moving to Orebro in the SHL this season, which could be a pivotal year for him.
Sale, EduardRight Wing186'11752021-0.49If the Sale who energizes the game can show up on every shift, he will make his spot on this list look much too low.
Foerster, TysonCenter216'11942329-1.57His hard work continues to pay off, and he just keeps getting better and better. Relentless.
Cristall, AndrewLeft Wing185'91754027-2.93His lack of size and physical play was the likely source of his draft day fall, but the scoring ability is there.
Snuggerud, JimmyRight Wing196'11882319-0.93Fun to watch, and his skating is improving. He has an NHL mentality and the shot to make it.
Kasper, MarcoCenter196'0187812-0.07Will get his first good chance in North America this year. Works so hard, his success if inevitable, but his scoring upside still looks limited.
But, DaniilLeft Wing186'41981222-0.26His talent is apparent outside of the dots. Inside the dots? Arizona thinks it will work.
Geekie, ConorCenter196'31961118-1.25Still has not shown an explosive offensive game, and probably never will. He has the size and physicallity to be a bottom-six NHLer, though.
Holtz, AlexanderLeft Wing216'018379-1.70Holtz just hasn't been able to put it all together yet, or he'd likely be graduated by now. As it is, this is probably the last time he's on this list.
Evangelista, LukeRight Wing215'111724250-0.77Had a nice professional debut season, throwing up 41 points in 49 games in the AHL, and adding 15 in 24 end-of-season games in the NHL for the Predators. Just keeps getting better.
Lysell, FabianRight Wing205'101762117-0.49Quality rookie season in the AHL with 37 points in 54 games. Needs one more year at the AHL level to hone his craft, but could see some NHL games this season.
Sokolov, EgorRight Wing236'42406188-1.94The only thing holding Sokolov back is his pace, but it's getting there, at least in the way he plays if not in his actual skating (but the skating is getting a little better, too).
Stankoven, LoganRight Wing205'81704732-2.70Filled to the brim with skill and talent. His faceoff prowess might be enough on its own to get him NHL minutes
Edstrom, DavidCenter186'31853234-0.16Quality two-way Center that plays a quiet, effective game.
Brisson, BrendanCenter215'111792927-1.19Effective rookie continued Brisson's progression and development. Likely sees some NHL games this season as a callup, but another year in Henderson should have him ready for full-time NHL play next year.
Minten, FraserCenter196'11853861-0.53Counting stats progression was disappointing for a post-draft season, but playing on the stacked Kamloops team meant points were spread around a lot. A lot to like in his game, with good size, physical strength and skill to match makes him look like a #2C on a good NHL team.
Halttunen, KasperRight Wing186'32153639-1.06Big shot, physical player. Is it enough?
L'Heureux, ZacharyCenter205'111942727-1.46The physical skills are all there, but he just can't seem to stay off of the suspension list. If he can temper his emotions, he can be a top-six NHLer.
Pastujov, SashaCenter206'01856636-1.97Turning pro after a big season for Sarnia (79 points in 46 games). Works well in the high-danger area, a bonus for NHL players.
Bourgault, XavierRight Wing206'01702222-1.68Solid professional debut with Bakersfield bodes well for his future NHL potential. Just keeps taking one step at a time in the right direction.
Othmann, BrennanLeft Wing206'018316180.22Not much flash in his game, but he goes to the net and makes things happen.
Nadeau, OlivierRight Wing206'22049772-1.66Had shoulder surgery last summer, then returned to score 22 goals in 34 games for Gatineau. He is a beast at the front of the net, with the size and hands to be effective doing the same thing in the NHL.
Dach, ColtonCenter206'41966267-0.73Kirby's "little" brother is 6'4, almost 200 pounds of potential. Missed a big chunk of the season after blowing up his shoulder in the WJCs.
Lucius, ChazCenter206'01751813-2.00Over the last few seasons, he's played in the USHL, NCAA, WHL, AHL, WJCs. A lot of bouncing, a good bit of scoring, and some question marks.
Gauthier, EthanRight Wing185'111833731-0.91Needs to prove that he can be effective in front of the net against the best players in the world.
Reichel, LukasCenter216'01701725-0.22Reichel bounced up and down between the NHL and AHL last season, but he had good showings in his time in the show. Looking like he's ready to stick as a second-line scoring winger.
Greig, RidlyCenter205'111592828-1.29Broke into the NHL last season with 20 games played for the Senators, and showed that he deserves a spot at least in the bottom six, if not more.
Dower Nilsson, NoahCenter185'111857375-1.26He is a much better all-around player than his draft position would signify. He's the kind of player that just improves his team's possession and chances whenever he is on the ice. A future 2C NHLer.
Samoskevich, MatthewRight Wing205'91752436-0.49Big step forward for Michigan last season, and saw a couple of games in the AHL at the end of the season and performed well in the playoffs for Charlotte. A year in the AHL will prepare him for his next step.
Dean, ZacharyCenter205'111683028-0.37Speed and hands. Had a good season for Gatineau, and a better playoffs where he scored 26 points in 13 games.
Firkus, JaggerRight Wing195'101513531-1.49Scoring curve flattened out a bit in his post-draft season, but he led Moose Jaw with 40 goals and 88 total points. Big step up for him this season as he looks to become a full-time AHLer.
Zary, ConnorCenter216'01742418-2.00Progressing nicely in his AHL development, and getting much closer to his NHL debut. Likely hits a ceiling at 2nd line.
Bourque, MavrikCenter215'101653024-2.00Had a successful rookie season for the Texas Stars. Probably needs another season in the AHL before shifting towards the NHL as a scoring middle-six.
Bystedt, FilipCenter196'32042752-0.61Last season was his first as a full-time SHL player, and his 20 points in 45 games showed that he can produce at that level.
Kartye, TyeLeft Wing216'0195250300-0.04Kartye won the AHL rookie of the year award last season, leading Coachella to the Calder Cup finals by scoring 57 in 72 games. He also played 10 games for the Kraken in their playoff run, and scored 5 points there. The undrafted Center's big year might be a launching point for a nice NHL career as a two-way middle six with scoring upside.
Jenik, JanLeft Wing226'118065590.65Foot injury cost Jenik nearly half a season last year, but he was highly effective when healthy and looks like a player with a chance to crack the Arizona lineup this year.
Turcotte, AlexCenter225'1118655-2.42Keeps slipping down the rankings as his development seems to have stalled out. He's just not making the kind of impact expected out of him.
Jarventie, RobyLeft Wing206'21853355-1.16Took a step forward in his development last season as he upped his AHL scoring pace. Looking more and more like a good second-line NHL winger is a likely outcome.
Stenberg, OttoCenter185'1118525230.00St Louis stepped up and drafted the two-way center at 25, which will give him a bit of a bump for his development spotlight, but he'll stil need to up his overall rate of play.
Brindley, GavinRight Wing185'91573429-1.08Fantastic two-way player without the size to make him a top-ten pick.
Gaucher, NathanCenter196'32072232-0.25This season will mark a big step in Gaucher's hockey carreer as he moves out of Juniors and into the AHL. As long as he can continue play his style of game and remain effective, he can become a solid power forward in an NHL middle six.
Kidney, RileyCenter205'111606372-1.29Produced great numbers with Gatineau last season, scoring 65 points in just 29 games (51 assists). Should get a lot of minutes for Laval next year to prep him for an NHL future.
Dorofeyev, PavelLeft Wing226'01767956-1.51Had some success with the Golden Knights last season, with nine points in 18 NHL games. Likely to see more time this season and graduate from the list. Still looks like a second-line upside.
Lapierre, HendrixCenter215'111722218-0.50His rookie season with Hershey saw him playing a mid-line role and at times he seemed to disappear a bit, but he put up good numbers with 30 points in 60 games, and should see his minutes pick up this season. He needs to find some more intensity in his play, but he got a full season of hockey without any significant injuries, and that alone was a big step forward.
Robins, TristenCenter215'101745646-1.15Saw a handful of NHL games last year in his first professional season, and scored 38 points in 64 games for the Barracuda. Probably needs another full season in the AHL to refine his game, but he'll be scoring in the NHL sooner than later.
Nadeau, BradleyRight Wing185'101603033-0.76His 113 points in 54 games for Penticton was enough to impress the Hurricanes to take him late in the 1st round, and he'll have time to develop and improve at Maine.
Kiiskinen, JesseRight Wing176'01906867-1.30Solid two-way player who put up respectable draft-year numbers (A/P of -1.27).
Martino, AyrtonRight Wing205'101707348-1.57Another quality season for Clarkson University, led the team with 29 assists. All the skill, but prone to mental errors and poor puck management
Roy, JoshuaCenter196'019015068-1.46Had a second big-scoring year for Sherbrooke and continues to improve his overall stock. Areas of his game still need to develop, but his offensive firepower is unquestionable.
Heineman, EmilLeft Wing216'01794365-1.70Came over to North America at the end of last season, and made an immediate impact with 9 points in 11 games for Laval in the AHL.
McConnell-Barker, BryceCenter196'11939769-0.20Hard working, 6'2 Center with speed and skill. Captained the Soo Greyhounds last season, and led the team with 77 points in 68 games in his post-draft season. He won't be a superstar, but he' the kind of player who can be a core part of a playoff-caliber NHL team.
Fagemo, SamuelLeft Wing236'01905069-2.43Running out of time to prove that he can be a consistent NHL presence.
Heidt, RileyCenter185'101806434-2.07Dropped well down the draft order, which is an indication that NHL teams don't believe he can effectively play inside the dots in the NHL. The model likes his game better than they do, but there's more risk involved now.
Pinelli, FrancescoLeft Wing206'11854226-0.39Captain of the Kitchener Rangers scored 41 goals last season. Skating remains a small concern but his skill and iq are NHL level.
Goncalves, GageCenter226'016562155-0.90Saw good development in his second full season of AHL play, upping his production rate significantly.
Bankier, CaedanCenter206'219086118-0.90Alternate captain and leading goal scorer for the powerful Kamloops Blazers squad. Offensive minded, but a good player in his own end, and should develop into a NHL player.
Yurov, DanilaRight Wing196'11722413-1.44Played 59 games for Magnitogorsk in the KHL, but saw just 8 minutes per game, slowing his development curve.
Salminen, SamuCenter206'21806859-1.37Played a freshman year at Connecticut where he put up 17 points in 27 NCAA games. Two-way player with scoring skill and a potential top-six NHL role.
Morrison, LoganCenter215'1117425066-1.71Forty goals split between Hamilton and Ottawa last season. Will make his pro debut this fall, and if he can produce at the same rate, the rest of his game translates well.
Del Bel Belluz, LucaCenter196'01794433-0.97LDBB had a fine post-draft season, but not good enough to push him up the prospect ranking. He's a good player, but still has a ways to go.
Goyette, DavidCenter195'101756139-1.17Another step forward in his D+1 season amd a taste of playoff AHL hockey at the end of the year. Will play one more year in Juniors. Continues to be effective on the ice due to intelligent play.
Cataford, MathieuRight Wing185'111907758-1.12Slipped further down the NHL draft list than he should have (drafted 77th versus the Hockey Prophets ranking at 40th). Solid, skilled player with a well-rounded, well-coached game. He has the look of an NHL middle-six.
Rashevsky, DmitriRight Wing226'1165146340.08Continues to impress in the KHL, but a contract extension means further distance from the NHL and higher risk.
Myatovic, NicoLeft Wing186'21803367-0.35Good tool set with above-average skills in most categories, but lacks a game-breaking ability.
Wahlberg, AntonCenter186'31923947-0.05Speedy center with skill will get a full season in the SHL this year to continue his development.
Ziemmer, KoehnRight Wing186'02107844-1.57Fell much further in the draft than he deserved. He can be a disruptive force in a game, and what he lacks in firepower he makes up for with intensity.
Sawchyn, GracynCenter185'101556343-0.77Turned a lot of heads at the end of last season, and shot up a lot of draft lists. A point-per-game player om Seattle's stacked WHL team. Still has work to do to improve his all-around play, but the spark is there, no question.
Soderblom, ElmerCenter226'72161593001.00Soderblom was the darling of the prospect punditry at the beginning of the 2022-2023 season, and the tall, soft-handed winger is a legitimate NHLer in the making, but despite his soft hands and skillful stickwork in tight spaces, he's not a dynamic player and is unlikely to become a big scorer in the NHL.
Lavoie, RaphaelCenter226'41993819-1.07Steadily improving his production at the AHL, where he nearly doubled his production over the past two seasons. Steady, big winger who could be a regular contributor in a NHL middle-six role playing two-way hockey.
Chromiak, MartinLeft Wing206'017912865-1.61Chromiak made a mostly smooth adjustment to the AHL last year, scoring 15 goals and 13 assists through 55 rookie-season games. He'll need another year, but he keeps working on his game, and seems on track for a probable middle-six NHL role.
King, BenCenter216'1187107300-1.28High ankle sprain cost him three months of the past season, and he never recovered to the torrid pace of his previous season. Still, he should get a nice term in the Ducks camp this fall, and a season of shots in the AHL will get him back on track.
Jackson, KyleLeft Wing206'2192196300-1.06Big, methodical scoring winger who can slot into center if needed. Solid two-way game with a good floor but not a huge ceiling.
Halliday, StephenLeft Wing216'4234104113-0.97Big freshman season at Ohio State saw Halliday score at a point-per-game pace. Huge body, and if that scoring translates, could become a difficult-to-handle presence in the NHL high-danger area.
Foote, NolanLeft Wing226'31882749-0.59Power player still developing in the AHL, but needs to keep working to improve.
Rehkopf, CarsonCenter186'21955051-0.37Needs to improve work rate and decision making. He has tools, but limited upside at this point.
Nilsson, FelixCenter186'01874354-0.66Played 18 games in the SHL last season without scoring a point in limited minutes. This season, he'll likey get a better, longer look there.
Beck, OwenCenter195'111873334-0.08Has NHL skating, but lacking scoring punch. Looks like a third-line Center, who can use his feet to track the best attackers or crack something open. Not expecting a big scoring upside, but could be a good NHLer.
Edmonds, LucasRight Wing225'101818692-0.82Typical transition from Junior to the AHL. This next season will be key to better understanding his development into a pro hockey player.
Nelson, DannyCenter176'32124945-0.22Big body puck pursuit. Has holes in his scoring game that will need to be improved if he wants to elevate above a bottom-six NHL probability.
Poulin, SamuelLeft Wing226'12122129-1.17Took a leave of absense last season for health issues, but looks poised to make a solid return this fall. The skills and all-around game are there and he could be a skilled top-six NHL winger.
Lind, KalanLeft Wing186'01584656-0.84Will need to continue to improve on his mental game and consistency.
Harrison, BrettCenter206'11728566-0.95His game is suited to professional hockey, with solid attributes that make him successful at both ends of the ice. Solid bottom-six player who can contribute on offense, but likely limited upside.
Olausson, OskarLeft Wing206'218128290.04Sniper who needs to improve on his ability to create his own offense and his play off the puck.
Iskhakov, RuslanCenter235'71524380-0.32Size is the primary risk factor for Iskhakov, but he continues to prove that he deserves a look at NHL play. He came back to North America last season (after playing two post-NCAA seasons in Europe), and dropped 51 points in 69 games in Bridgeport. Has the darting, ellusive quickness necessary for a small player, and his scoring comes naturally.
Karlsson, LinusCenter236'118087127-0.51Excellent rookie season in North America, played 72 games in the AHL and scored 24 goals and added 25 assists. Has a chance to make the Canucks roster with a solid training camp.
Cuylle, WillLeft Wing216'220160570.12After a rookie AHL season that ended with 45 points in 69 games for Hartford (second overall in team scoring), the big-bodied shooter proved that his games translates well to pro hockey, and even got a brief taste of NHL play (4 games). He'll probably see another year in the AHL, but some spot play on the Island is in the cards, and a likely permanent spot next season.
McClennon, ConnorRight Wing215'915417881-1.49Very small at 5'8, but he was a powerhouse component of the Winnipeg Ice last year and alternate captain. He'll have a long road to the NHL, though.
Brink, BobbyCenter225'81653423-2.04Hip surgery derailed the first half of his season last year, and will do nothing to help his skating issues. Hands are great, but continues to struggle to create his own offense.
Poitras, MatthewCenter195'111775478-0.10Standard development so far. Will get another year in Juniors, but needs to do something to separate himself from the pack.
Buchelnikov, DmitriRight Wing195'101635285-0.75Continues to progess in Russia by stepping up from the MHL to the VHL and putting up 28 points in 35 games. He signed a three-year extenstion last fall, so he'll be in Russia for a while longer but could be available to the NHL in a couple of years.
Dufour, WilliamRight Wing216'219415299-0.58Skating is an issue, but he's showing that he can contribute as a pro by scoring 48 in 69 rookie AHL games last year. Probably another season in Bridgeport to continue to develop.
Suzdalev, AlexanderLeft Wing196'11777089-0.46Came across to North America and played his first season with Conor Bedard. Scored 86 points in 66 games to end up second in team scoring.
Der-Arguchintsev, SemyonCenter225'1116176121-0.46Unforturnately, S D-A has not been able to break into the NHL with the Leafs stacked top six, so he's returning to the KHL. The Leafs qualifying offer means they keep his NHL rights.
Colangelo, SamRight Wing216'22053643-1.31Production flattened out last season, which does not help his ranking. Still a project a year or two away, at best.
Raty, AatuCenter206'118152270.28Raty had a interesting season, playing for four North American teams, including 15 at the NHL level. He has skill and size, and might be a full-time NHLer this season. However, his upside is second-line, and probably more likely he bounces around between 13 and 16 minutes per game.
Melanson, JacobRight Wing205'11201131124-1.07Physical, two-way forward with size, grit and scoring ability. Sounds like a bottom-six NHLer.
Stramel, CharlieCenter186'322221450.95Stramel's size and physical abilities seemed intriguing to the Wild, but his lack of production at any level so far is incredibly worrisome. Will he explode to reach his initial promise?
Mazur, CarterLeft Wing216'0170701250.13Signed his pro contract at the end of the NCAA season, and had an immediate impact in Grand Rapids with 6 points in six games. He'll likely see a full year of AHL play this season, but his skating and intensity see him in a bottom-six NHL role within a year or so.
Ostapchuk, ZackCenter206'32053997-0.21Big body with decent hands means he'll always get a long look, but he needs to keep working on production if he wants to break out of a bottom-six role.
Voronkov, DmitriLeft Wing226'31831143001.50Excellent season and playoffs in the KHL earned him an entry-level contract with Columbus. He'll likely start the season in the AHL, but if his play translates quickly, the big, strong scoring winger could get a taste of NHL play.
Gritsyuk, ArseniRight Wing225'10170129810.37Continues to produce in the KHL, but the newly signed two-year contract with SKA St Petersburg means there's added risk. If/when he comes over to North America, he could be a quality attacking winger.
Maggio, MatthewRight Wing205'11187142300-0.87Scored 111 points last year in what was ostensibly a D+2 season. He'll play in the AHL this year after getting a brief taste at the end of last season.
Svechkov, FyodorCenter206'01801916-0.33Took a step forward last year with 27 games in the KHL play with Spartak Moskva. Signed an entry-level contract with Nashville this summer. Likely starts the year in the AHL, but could spend some time the NHL.
Boucher, TylerLeft Wing206'12001040-0.37Scoring is not progressing as hoped, but he'll get a new chance to prove his value as he steps into professional hockey this season.
Korczak, RyderCenter205'101707572-0.40Has the hands and creativity to be a good NHL scorer, but needs to prove that he can handle the tight, difficult spaces in the high-danger areas of the professional game.
Fisker Molgaard, OscarCenter185'111665244-0.36Played 41 SHL games in his draft year, and was a key piece for Denmarks international team including playing six games at the men's World Championships. Pro-style player with high hockey iq.
Firstov, VladislavLeft Wing226'01814254-0.74Went back to Russia on loan, and scored 26 points in 47 KHL games. Despite the effectiveness in the top Russian league, the risk of staying in his homeland increased, and thus the probability of becoming a quality NHLer suffers some.
Pekarcik, JurajLeft Wing176'21837671-1.04Always looking up ice, and comes alive when he has a chance to attack. There are flaws, but if he can pull it all together, there's a puncher's chance.
Szturc, GabrielCenter195'10176250106-1.12Upped his production for Kelowna last season, increasing his rate from 0.6 points per game to 1.4 points per game. Also scored 8 in 7 WJC games for Czechia. Good all-around player, but smallish at 5'10.
Ponomaryov, VasiliCenter216'01765353-0.45Stepped onto North American ice last season and finished the year second in scoring for the AHL Chicago Wolves. At 5'10, he's less likely to be used in a defensive role, so he'll have to make his NHL pay in a middle six attacking role.
Miroshnichenko, IvanLeft Wing196'118520200.62Saw 23 games in the KHL last year, averaging just over 8 minutes per game. His overall stats (even in his 12 MHL games) were underwhelming. He needs a good season with consistent minutes to keep his development on track.
Cowan, EastonCenter185'101702863-0.35After his surprise first-round selection by the Maple Leafs, Cowan will be surrounded with inflated expectations. Fiesty and intense, Cowan will have to up his scoring game and prove that his style won't be hampered by his smaller-than-NHL-average size.
Robertson, NicholasLeft Wing215'81625338-1.27Injuries continue to hinder Robertson's development. Broken leg, knee, shoulder surgery. Across the four seasons since being drafted in the summer of 2019, he's played just 127 games and only 17 last season. A healthy year or two would go a long way to resurrecting his career, but he now has a lot of risk associated with his lack of development time.
Laferriere, AlexRight Wing215'111728386-0.58Signed a pro contract at the end of his Harvard season (42 points in 34 games). Offensive skills looking for a more well-rounded game.
Stillman, ChaseRight Wing205'111702954-0.57Hard-working, physical game with limited scoring upside. He'll make the NHL, but his ceiling is limited to a likely bottom-six role.
Pitre, CoulsonCenter186'01706561-0.75Drafted a bit lower than the Hockey Prophets ranking, but he has some good upside and plays a hard game.
Winterton, RyanRight Wing196'217567730.46Shoulder issues have hampered his development, but looked good on his return at the end of the season. Health concerns add risk, but he still has time to improve and earn his way up the ladder.
Howard, IsaacLeft Wing195'91803122-1.60There is a lot to like, and a lot to worry about. The skating is top-notch, but the inconsistency is aggravating. He's trasnferring out of Minnesota-Duluth and over the Michigan State. Will it help his development curve?
Suzuki, RyanCenter226'01802822-1.34His third season in the AHL showed consistent improvement, but he needs to hit the gas a bit to make a legitimate case for NHL play.
Rosen, IsakLeft Wing205'101541422-0.19His rookie season in the AHL was a successful transition to North America. He'll look to improve on the 37 points in 66 games and his hockey iq should help with that.
Bordeleau, ThomasLeft Wing215'91723843-0.45Scored 41 points in his first full year of AHL hockey, and saw 8 games for San Jose (2 assists). Smaller player who is a dedicated worker with skill.
Blumel, MatejLeft Wing236'0200100101-0.54Came back to North America last season, and made an impact for the Texas Stars, and a brief glimpse of 6 games in the NHL. Likely sees another year at the AHL level, but he could make a move for a bottom six role in the NHL as early as next season.
Sapovaliv, MatyasCenter196'21834848-0.13Led a low-scoring Saginaw in total points (although Misa had a much better point-per-game rate), despite being at just under a point per game. Would be good to see him move up to the AHL this season.
Clarke, GraemeRight Wing225'1117580750.21More than doubled his AHL production in his sophomore season, and led the Utica Comets in scoring. He continues to look like a player with NHL scoring ability and may soon see some time with the Devils.
Khusnutdinov, MaratCenter215'91523738-0.20Small, hard-working forward who just out-hustles everyone else on the ice. Put up 41 points in 63 KHL points last year for SKA St Petersburg. The key of course is whether or not his scoring translates to the NHL, but his work rate certainly will.
Nyman, JaniRight Wing196'32174950-1.08Continues to develop in Finland's top league, where he scored 14 points (10 goals) in 29 games last year. Shooter who needs to improve other aspects of his game.
Perreault, JacobRight Wing215'111982724-1.54Took at step backwards last season in AHL production, dropping from .7 ppg to .4, a bad signifier of future NHL success. He has the skill, but he needs to wrap it all together.
Tracey, BraydenLeft Wing226'01702942-1.62Plateaued a bit last in the AHL, which is a concern. This is an important season for his development, and he'll need to take a step forward or higher risk of topping out will start creeping into his ranking.
Suniev, AydarLeft Wing186'11928066-0.11Taking an unusual route for a Russian player by coming to North America early and playing Junior A hockey. Third overall in scoring for Penticton last season, and heading to U Mass this year.
Farrell, SeanLeft Wing215'917912473-1.11Huge year, scoring 53 in 34 games for Harvard, and turned pro at the end of the year. Small, but a ton of skill. He's a make-or-break top six winger who will struggle to find meaningful minutes in the NHL if he can't generate offense.
Shafigullin, BulatCenter236'11638278-1.62Keeps plugging away in the KHL, but he's development has plateaued and although he may eventually take a crack at the NHL, this is his last time on the list before aging out.
Arcuri, FrancescoCenter206'0187175129-0.46Moved to Kitchener mid-season and was one of the Rangers' more successful offensive producers at 1.35 points-per-game. Needs to keep working on his defensive play and effort levels, but he's getting there.
Ludtke, TannerCenter186'01858195-0.86Passing and puck handling are very good, but his skating is a major concern. He'll have time to improve at Nebraska-Omaha.
Lund, CameronCenter196'21923453-0.26Decent freshman season for Northeastern, but he'll need to improve from his seven goals last season. His game needs time to simmer and improve, but he has the foundational materials to do that.
Miedema, EthanLeft Wing186'420810986-0.21Fourth-round pick with some upside, but mostly just the size that NHL teams want at 6'4, 207 pounds
Kumpulainen, RasmusCenter176'21905379-0.07Big, young 2023 draft pick has time to improve his scoring and two-way play.
Hanas, CrossLeft Wing216'11645582-0.22No-nonsense, pro-style player with some skill and average skating. He looks like a bottom-six plug-and-play forward who might earn a stable NHL paycheck.
Klimovich, DanilaRight Wing206'12004160-0.96Big center who plays with some scoring touch. He keeps climbing up his development curve, and improved his counting stats admirably last year versus his rookie AHL season. Another year there, and he might be ready for a bottom-six NHL role.
Finley, JackCenter206'52075765-0.95He's now listed at 6'6, 223 pounds and coming off a rookie pro season for the Syracuse Crunch (12 goals, 9 assists in 67 games). NHL gms like the size, for sure, and he's a good skater, but still has a ways to go.
Greene, RyanCenter196'11795764-0.03Quality freshman season at Boston with 31 points in 38 games. Despite his scoring ability, it’s likely that his defensive play will be the edge that can get him into the NHL.
Groulx, Benoit-OlivierCenter236'21945442-0.26Smart, steady player without a lot of flash. Scored 39 in 63 AHL games last year, but will need to take the next step soon, if he can.
Mastrosimone, RobertCenter225'101595456-0.92Transferred out of BU to Arizona State, where he led the team in scoring last season, but it wasn't enough to earn a contract from the Red Wings. He can go back to Az St for another year, but his NHL probabilities are thinning.
Simoneau, XavierCenter225'7176191122-1.64Proved that he can score at the AHL level, but now he'll need to show that he can add something to an NHL roster that others around him cannot.
Trikozov, GlebCenter186'11856045-1.20Somewhat disappointing that he didn't get a better look in the KHL, but he did play 25 games in Russia's tier 2 league with relative success. He's a project, but one to keep an eye on.
Vierling, EvanCenter216'015412779-1.07Highly productive overage year in Barrie (95 points in 60 games) but he'll have to carry that forward into the AHL next season.
Schaefer, ReidLeft Wing196'32143241-0.22He's huge, with good hands in tight, so he has a chance to find a net-front role at the NHL level. Still a project, and his development will be key.
Thomas, AkilCenter236'01805126-1.28Game time has been seriously hampered by injuries and surgeries, and he played only 13 games last year. This will be his last appearance on the prospect list, and he needs a healthy, successful season to get his career trajectory back on track.
Gushchin, DaniilRight Wing215'81617659-0.87First full AHL season was a success, with 45 points in 67 games. Smart defender in his own end could become an effective third-line NHLer who will chip in on offense.
Henry, JoelCenter205'916525300-1.52Small, Swiss-league forward is playing for GC Kusnacht and seeing success. Was a point-per-game player in the NL playoffs, but he might be a much better player in the European leagues (where he has more room) than in North America.
Likhachev, YarolslavLeft Wing215'10173250184-0.62Scored 15 goals in his rookie KHL season, plus another 12 assists. As an undrafted Russian player, there's a lot of risk for him staying in his homeland.
Huckins, ColeCenter206'41917787-0.86Big Center looking at an overage season for Sherbrooke, after finishing last year at less than a point per game in the Q.
Hayes, GavinRight Wing196'11766680-0.26Okay season for Flint, with 81 points in 66 games (41 goals). Looking like an average botttom-six NHL or quality AHLer.
Steeves, AlexCenter236'0185250142-0.52Producing at th AHL level, but can he convert that to NHL scoring? He will age out of the prospect list this fall, either way.
Luypen, JalenLeft Wing215'10150216300-1.15Was a point-per-game player in the WHL last season, and got a short stint in the AHL playoffs for Rockford. Will play his full rookie pro season this year, and looks to continue to build on his development curve.
Rochette, TheoCenter215'10159250106-0.24Rochette improved every year he was at Quebec, and finished his career there with 106 points in 65 games. Still, he went undrafted in the NHL and will almost certainly be playing in Switzerland next season. It would not be surprising to see him come back to North America in a couple of years.
Moldenhauer, NickCenter195'101709579-0.87Big scoring season for the Chicago Steel last year (his 75 points put him second on the team in scoring behind only top 2024 draft prospect Celebrini), but he still needs a lot of improvement (better speed and agility, in particular) before he can become an effective NHLer.
Pederson, OwenCenter216'3190250211-1.08Overager in the WHL, still under a point-per-game.
Piercy, RileyLeft Wing216'42002503000.37Looks to make the move to the AHL this season after a 70-point, 65-pim season for Flint. Has limited scoring upside.
Matikka, MikoRight Wing196'31876791-0.17Decent USHL season leads him into the NCAA next season where he'll play for the Denver Pioneers. Big-bodied right winger who needs to up his offensive output.
Vidicek, MarkusCenter195'1015225087-0.74Scored 80 in 68 for Halifax last season, but despite his scoring and offensive potential, his off-puck reads and overall game awareness at speed needs improvement.
Bokk, DominikCenter236'11762520-0.50Has not been able to achieve the promising scoring he showed at Vaxjo in his draft year, and has been playing in Germany last couple of seasons.
Swankler, AustenCenter216'0183250300-0.41Big year at Bowling Green saw him rack up 44 points in 35 games, well in front as his team's leading scorer. The undrafted center continues to blossom, and could earn a contract in the near the future.
Roulette, ConnorLeft Wing205'1116011162-1.20Roulette moving to his third WHL team in three years for an overage season after a fairly lackluster year for Saskatoon.
Petrov, MatveiLeft Wing206'1163180910.33A couple of 90-point seasons for North Bay shows that he can score in Major Juniors. Could get his first look at pro hockey this fall.
Kizimov, SemyonRight Wing236'01762113000.69Had nice first, full-season action in the KHL where he posted 15 points in 22 games. The Leafs 7th-round pick in 2018 will age out of the prospect list in January, but his development is ticking along and he could be an interesting mid-20s transfer to North American play.
Unger Sorum, FelixCenter175'111726277-0.71Skating is an issue, but he has good hands and scoring ability.
Kantserov, RomanLeft Wing185'91914465-0.47The small Russian winger was drafted higher than expected (Chicago drafted him at 44, vs the Hockey Prophets ranking at 125), but he'll have a lot to prove before he becomes effective in the NHL.
Dolzenkov, KirillLeft Wing196'623610980-0.02Draft year plus one was spent almost entirely in the MHL, where he played 50 games with 45 points. Not the greatest production for the that type of season, but he's a 6'6, 234 winger.
O'Brien, JayCenter235'1017619370.26Wore an "A" for Boston University last year, and had a good, productive season (32 points in 39 games), but he still looks like a marginal NHL scoring C that will struggle to hold a spot if he can't provide big offensive punch. He'll age out of the list this fall.
Sourdif, JustinRight Wing215'111658748-0.72Decent rookie season in the AHL for Charlotte. Has some work to do to improve to the NHL level.
Rees, JamiesonCenter225'101824435-0.59Nearly doubled his AHL production last year, and his work rate is always present and effective, but Rees is unlikely to be a top-six NHL player.
Damiani, RileyCenter235'101731371580.32Another good year in the AHL, but he's looking more and more like a career Tier2 player.
Neuchev, ViktorCenter196'21657453-0.29Played his first full year in Russia's top men's league, and scored 12 points in 57 games with limited ice time. Quick, skillful player.
Moroz, VadimCenter196'218588140-0.14Drafted by the Coyotes in his second year of eligibility. Played 39 games in the KHL last year (14 points) after coming up through Belarussian hockey. Should get a full look for Dinamo Minsk this year.
Lipinski, JadenCenter186'3210112102-0.05Big center/winger with some skill, but he needs to improve his offensive production and game awareness to climb a steep power curve.
Hardie, JamesLeft Wing215'11180250104-0.95Captained the Mississauga Steelheads last season, scoring 82 points in 66 games to lead the team. Needs to improve his urgency and dial up the instensity in order to be a successful professional hockey player.
Hallander, FilipCenter236'118858460.42Signed a long-term contract with Timra and will be locked up there until 2028, likely bringing an end to his North American hockey career.
Zhilkin, DannyCenter196'01967751-0.24Will move into the AHL this year after a splitting time between Guelph and Kitchener last season (56 points in 60 combined games).
Afanasyev, YegorCenter226'32044536-0.81Big man on the wing played 17 NHL games last year with just a single point. This will be a pivotal season for the power forward's development.
Misiak, MartinCenter186'120055860.60Came over from Slovakia mid-year to play in the USHL. Hard worker with above average skill, but he needs to improve his offense generation.
Cardwell, EthanCenter205'1015712186-0.41Starting his pro career this fall in the AHL for San Jose. Put up 90 in 62 games for Barrie last season. Smart player with somewhat limited scoring upside.
Chiasson, JakeRight Wing206'1165116169-0.60Moves to the AHL this year after scoring 58 points in his final WHL season.
Pettersen, Mathias EmilioCenter235'10170167156-0.13Nearing the end of his prospect eligibilty. Has a combined 84 points in 149 AHL games and is looking likely to top out at the AHL level.
Garayev, AmirCenter226'01722503000.87Keeps improving in the KHL, and increased his scoring to 23 points last season. Still, a project and low-probability for NHL play.
Drozdov, IvanRight Wing236'01742503001.35Scored 28 points in his second full season of KHL play, but he looks like a longshot to ever make an NHL impact and he'll age out of the list in November
